Most homeowners don’t realize there are two different types of roofing warranties. Both matter.
Manufacturer Warranty (Material Coverage)
This warranty covers defects in the roofing materials themselves. It is issued and administered directly by the manufacturer.
Depending on the roofing system selected, manufacturer protection ranges from Limited Lifetime material coverage to 50-Year material warranties.
Workmanship Warranty (Installation Coverage)

Typical lifespan estimates are not warranties and assume proper installation and maintenance. Warranty remedy is limited to cost of repair. Coverage may be void or suspended if the account balance is unpaid. Damage caused by weather beyond product ratings, foot traffic, lack of maintenance, or third-party work is excluded.
How to Maintain Your Roofing Warranty
Proper maintenance protects both manufacturer and workmanship coverage.
